Family Fishing Fun
The George Family after a good morning fishing in Emigrant Cove. Using nightcrawlers and a variety of powerbait (sherbert, green & orange).
LAKE SPEED LIMIT
JUST A REMINDER THAT THE SPEED LIMIT IS 10 MPH, NO WAKE PLEASE.
REELING in RAINBOWS
The full moon hasn’t slowed the fishing down at all. We have seen plenty of nice sized rainbows brought in by boatere reeling them in at Emigrant Cove.
7/22/10 FISHING REPORT
Fishing in the Emigrant Cove area and the deep part of the lake has been pretty consistant for catching nice sized browns and rainbows, using kastmasters, dodgers and even worms. We are seeing rainbows being caught from shore using worms & powerbait.
FISH PLANT PHOTOS
On 7/20/10 1600 pounds of “catchables” ranging from 1/2 – 1 pound in size were planted. Also received 700 ponds of “trophy” rainbows in the 3-6 pound range.

EID & KMPUD will be planting 1600 pounds of 5-10# trophy & catchables from the Caples Lake Resort launch ramp on 7/20/10.

Walt Frey of Escalon, CA caught this lunker near Wood’s Ceek using pink glitter power bait.
WILDFLOWERS
The wildflowers are starting to bloom but we’re still a week or more away from their peak. Some of the trails that are good right now include: Showers Lake, Woods Lake, Thunder Mountain & Red Cliffs.
7/11/10 Fishing Report
Robert Glanville of Pollock Pines caught this 5 pounder using a silver & blue kastmaster, he fishing off shore between the spillway and Caples Lake Resort.
