Greetings from Mike and Gwen Niccoli, the new owners of Caples Lake Resort and longtime locals.
If you are a new visitor, we sincerely hope you will love Caples Lake Resort and the surrounding area as much as we do. As a returning guest, we are honored that you share the same love of this special place.
It is our commitment that Caples Lake Resort will continue to thrive, and all guests will be welcomed with a friendly smile. We will be conscientious stewards, as it holds a special place in our hearts. We will do everything in our power to preserve its legacy, its charm, and its history. We are dedicated to making mindful decisions that benefit our surrounding environment.
The rustic nature of Caples Resort, along with the family atmosphere which we all love, will continue! We are very pleased that our first summer went so well, and we look forward to continuing to serve you as we move into wintertime. Our excitement grows daily as we get closer to opening our newly renovated lodge this winter.
Mike grew up in New Mexico and Gwen in Ireland, but we both found our way to the Sierra Mountains and met at Kirkwood in 1993. Mike spent 35 years overseeing mountain operations at Kirkwood; the mountain was our kids’ playground growing up and they share our passion and love for this area. Thirty years later, we are still here with our two grown children, Sloane and Iris.
We are eternally grateful to the Voss Family for entrusting us to continue the Caples Lake Resort legacy. We look forward to providing you with a memorable experience and we are thrilled to bring our dreams of Caples Lake Resort to life. We look forward to your feedback as we continue to evolve. Please let us know if we can do anything to make your stay more pleasant.
Warmly,
Mike & Gwen
Congratulations. You are VERY lucky people. I'm not a local, not by any stretch.. but absolutely fell head over heels in TRUE LOVE with your place, on a cross-country road trip, last year. I've not been able to stop dreaming of it, since. Are you hiring? haha Actually, for real.. I'm a recently retired corporate executive & Nature lover looking for a simple, peace-filled life. A very hard worker and cancer survivor cherishing every single moment on this beautiful Earth. I've been a lot of places, but none other has grabbed my heart so deeply... Caples Lake just felt like home. :) We bouldered around your rocks, threw sticks for your dog, and peered inside the then empty, seemingly abandoned…
Congratulations - looks like a gorgeous place! Wishing you much happiness and success -
Jennifer
